The Old Map is an early version of DS from around Mid 2015, it has separate data from the Main game. DS Testing 1,2,3 includes features that the Developers might want to test for future updates or for having fun. The DS Testing Map is not entirely a map but contains mostly different content from the main game. The testing map has gamepasses and badge data from the main game, but not progress while the Old Map has a completely different data from the testing map

The Lobby Includes a disclaimer at spawn, and a Trading Menu. This map does not include Dinosaurs but Roblox Avatars and other features instead of features present in other maps. The Trading Lobby is the map where Trading is possible. The Map also includes Avalanches, which are capable of killing players. Examples such as Peng from Attack On Kaiju or Wendigo Cave, a reference to The Wendigo King, a devasaur. On a good note, this map has significantly more easter eggs than players. The remake does not have any NPCs, which makes the servers usually small because of a lack of food for predators. Winter Map is a snowy map with snowflakes falling from the sky, with snow covered trees, ice on the sides of water, a waterfall, caves, tunnels, and a small ocean. Winter Map is a remake of the “Ice Valley” map and was added to the game in February 2021. Isla Maston contains logs, palm trees, large foliage, forests, a mountain/cave, and beaches/hills. Maston has rivers, a central pond, a smaller pond, and outside ocean and an underground ocean. Isla Maston looks similar to the “2018 Default Map” in both look and style. The Map is entirely an island, but without a border wall and has a long ocean floor with an underground ocean. Isla Maston was a map added in September 2019. The map also received a few updates to the map along with its presence as the Default Map. The Main Map is a large map that includes a tiny forest of trees, rivers, hills, desert with cactuses, mountainous area, tall area of trees, an underground ocean, and much more. Main Map became a separate map after the “Classic Map” became the new Default Map. Main Map was the 1st Terrain Map added to the game and was the Default Map from Mid 2015 to Early 2016.

On the 12th of February, Homelands would receive another update that added a birch forest to a side of the map, add more detail to the mountains and trim up the map. Homelands would return on January 8th of 2021, with an expanse to some of the sides of the map that would make it like an island, along with new things such as islands and plants.Īnother update would come on the 15th of January, adding more detail to the arch area of the map, making the arch larger, extending the area and adding in a cave in the mountains. Along with this the map would remain the same and would be replaced by “Rimor Mountains” in October and would remain as the default map for the rest of 2020. Homelands would remain the same until August 14th, when it got a size increase and a lot of new features. Homelands replaced “Grinelle’s Island (2019)” as the Default Map in 2020. This map was added on the 1st of July, 2020 as a remake of the “Classic Map” from Older DS versions. The map is also like an island, with a coast and an ocean, but not much like Isla Mastons ocean, it has a deeper ocean with dark rock and more detailed ocean floors near the underwater tunnel that leads to the middle of the map. Homelands is a large map and includes a lot of scenery: Sandy Beaches and islands with Palm trees and cacti, large and tall mountains with glowing rocks/trees, hanging vines, snow, and small ravines, a waterfall is also included along with a birch forest, an arch, and a swamp there is a forest with very tall trees, and the water area extends to tunnels going to the ocean and other parts of the map. Homelands is the Default Map for Dinosaur Simulator and was the last Default Map added to Dinosaur Simulator. Some of the other maps do not have an up-to-date version and get updates at later times. The one map that all players go to is the Default Map, which has the most up to date versions.
There are a total of six different available maps, each with different, unique, and similar qualities.
